In the presence of the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine, an agreement was signed between the companies Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukraina. It envisages cooperation in the investment phase of activity of the open association “International Consortium for management and development of the gas transport system of Ukraine.”
Ukraine and Russia have determined the investment phase of work on construction of the gas pipeline Bogorodchany-Uzhgorod in the west of Ukraine with a length of 240 kilometres and a cost of around $300 million. This will become part of the Novopskov-Uzhgorod line with a carrying capacity of 20–30 billion cubic metres of gas per year.
At the same time, a contract was signed between Gazprom and the international consortium for transporting natural gas to the territory of Ukraine.
