President Putin visited the Museum of private collections, which is holding the exhibition “View from Germany. Masterpieces of the 20th century from the Deutsche Bank collection”. The director of the Pushkin Museum of Art, Irina Antonova, gave the President a guided tour of the exhibition.
Mr Putin said that the exhibition showed works from various periods and showed how people lived in the pre-war period and after the Second World War, and how people’s ideas of the world that they lived in changed.
After looking at the exhibition on the ground floor of the museum, Mr Putin ascended to the first floor, where the works of Russian artists are on permanent display. The President was accompanied by the German ambassador to Russia, Hans Friedrich von Pletz.
