The head of state discussed the current challenges concerning the development and the modernisation of the army with the Command of the Siberian Military District.
The President also presented state awards to servicemen working in the district.
The Siberian Military District was established in 1998 by combining the Trans-Baikal Military District and the Siberian Military District. It comprises an area of more than five million square kilometres and 14 regions, and borders on China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.
