Vladimir Putin announced that citizens of the CIS countries expect concrete results from law-enforcement bodies.
Welcoming participants of the session, Mr Putin noted that developing a joint plan of action for 2005 is a very important task.
The President stressed that cooperation between Interior Minstries of the CIS countries is one of the most relevant and important types of activity in the post-Soviet area.
The President especially singled out the issue of the war on terrorism, saying that the heads of all CIS countries gave particular attention to this issue.
Mr Putin also noted other common tasks, including the war on organised crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration.
The President wished the meeting participants success and constructive work at the session of the Council of interior ministries, which will continue work on Saturday.
