The Emergencies Ministry should be ready to evacuate Russians from the earthquake zone and to render assistance on the spot if necessary.
Sergei Shoigu said the ministry was preparing a plan to evacuate Russians from Thailand where 1,500–1,600 Russian citizens are staying. In connection with the earthquake in Southeast Asia the Russian authorities should tackle the forecasting of such events and work out a timely reaction to them, Vladimir Putin stressed.
