In his New Year’s address to the citizens of Russia, Vladimir Putin noted that new projects and approaches to pressing state problems had emerged in 2004. The economic and defence potential was strengthened, and the country’s capabilities increased. The outgoing year also witnessed dramatic events in the life of the nation.
The coming year 2005 will be a special one — it is the year of a great holiday, the 60th anniversary of victory in the World War II.
