At a meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, the Russian President noted the high level of bilateral economic and political cooperation that has developed in recent years.
Russia currently account for up to 60% of Ukraine’s foreign trade turnover. There is very high integration in various areas between the two countries.
Very serious steps have been made to regulate border issues, designed to emphasise the state sovereignty of Ukraine.
It is on the basis of mutual respect that new relations can be built in the post-Soviet area – directed towards integration. Above all, this concerns the development of cooperation in the economic sphere, including in the framework of the common economic sphere.
