The meeting discussed the possibility of Russia paying off its debt to the Paris Club ahead of schedule should this be economically advantageous.
Mr Putin expressed the hope that the World Bank could have a positive influence on this process.
The President and Mr Wolfenson also discussed cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States.
