Mr Putin gave a positive assessment of the Tax Service’s work and proposed that the meeting examine the state of affairs in taxation.
Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov put forward a number of measures to optimise the Tax Code that would clarify certain provisions in tax legislation, simplify tax inspection procedures and set out procedures for the examination of major claims by higher tax authorities.
Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, Chief of the Presidential Executive Office Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, Chief of the Federal Tax Service Anatoly Serdyukov and Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov took part in the meeting.
