In accordance with the order, Russia will also join the supplementary protocol to the agreement of 19 June 1995.
This agreement regulates the legal status of the personnel of the armed forces, the civilian personnel and members of their families of the Party located on the territory of the other Party with this Party’s agreement. This document is only effective if there is a separate agreement between the according Parties on the assignment and use of forces. 38 nations are members of the agreement.
The supplementary protocol to the agreement provides for the refusal by member countries to carry out death sentences towards the personnel of the armed forces, civilian personnel and members of their families. 35 nations are members of the supplementary protocol.
