Over the next two years, the Russian authorities will work on changing the situation in several areas indicated in this sometimes harsh but objective document, underlined Vladimir Putin, receiving the author of the report Alvaro Jil-Robles at the Kremlin.
Preparation of the report was discussed at the last meeting between Mr Putin and Mr Jil-Robles held exactly one year ago on May 27, 2004.
At today’s meeting, Mr Jil-Robles thanked the Russian President for his support and comprehensive help in preparing the report which was officially presented to the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers on April 20, 2005.
