The names of the winners of the state prizes were announced by member of the Presidential Council for literature and art, director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky and member of the Presidential Council for science, technology and education, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yury Osipov.
Three prizes were awarded in the field of science and technology and three prizes were awarded in the field of literature and art.
The award ceremony of state prizes will be held at the Kremlin on 12 June 2005.
