The Direct Line with the President lasted for 2 hours and 55 minutes.
Mr Putin, speaking from a television studio in the Kremlin, answered 60 questions put by people from around Russia and from abroad through direct link-ups to 10 cities and also via the telephone and the Internet. An SMS channel was also opened to take questions.
Direct TV link-ups during the broadcast were made with Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Tomsk, Vorkuta, Izhevsk, Saratov, Grozny, Gelendzhik, Volgograd, Belgorod Region, and Riga in Latvia.
