Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian Jews on the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah

October 3, 2005
00:00

The congratulations reads, in particular:

”For adherents of Judaism this holiday symbolizes spiritual cleansing, moral and religious perfection, and adherence to eternal values of good, justice, and charity. Russian followers of Judaism as well as of other faiths make a valuable contribution to the development of a constructive societal dialogue.

This is especially important today as we try to counteract together any displays of national or religious intolerance and attempts to disrupt the peaceful coexistence of people of various religious creeds.

I sincerely wish you health, happiness, and all the best. May calmness and prosperity reign in your houses.“
