His greeting read, in part:
”It is gratifying that this forum has acquired so such recognition, including through an extensive programme of activities involving heads of state and government, along with representatives of the world’s political and business elite. Year after year, there have comprehensive discussions of issues relevant to the development of the global economy, as well as discussion focused on the challenges facing the modern world.
One of the central themes of the forum has been the prospects for further growth in the Russian economy. Here our priorities have already been indicated. First and foremost, this involves investing in human capital, stimulating innovation, strengthening institutions and modernising infrastructure. The implementation of such steps will allow Russia to increase its economic potential, strengthen its position on the world stage as a reliable partner, and open it to long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation.
I am confident that the 12th Annual St Petersburg International Economic Forum will confirm its status as an effective platform for constructive dialogue among leading economists and prominent representatives of business community. And its work will contribute to extending cooperation, the creation of a favourable business climate, and the implementation of promising international projects“.
