Vladimir Putin met with Russian journalists following the APEC summit in South Korea

Vladimir Putin noted that the APEC summit formalised the desires of countries in the region to establish free trade and cooperate productively in important areas.

The Russian leader emphasized that the summit promoted rallying all participants in the struggle against international terrorism, developing a common approach to preventing natural and industrial accidents, and creating joint mechanisms to deal with their consequences.

During the APEC summit Vladimir Putin held brief working meetings with heads of delegations from Singapore, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Peru and several other states.

During a meeting with the President of the Philippines the parties agreed to quickly conclude the talks concerning Russia's accession to the WTO.

Vladimir Putin also had several conversations with US President George W. Bush.
