With the Council for the Implementation of Priority National Projects due to meet on November 29, work in the education, healthcare, agriculture and housing sectors was the main subject of discussion at a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
Payments for nurses, doctors and school teachers who are class heads, planned as part of the national projects in healthcare and education will begin as from February 1, 2006, Mr Medvedev said. These payments will include funds programmed for January.
Mr Putin noted that as well as the measures planned as part of the national projects, measures should also be taken to raise the living standards of other people employed in these sectors.
The upcoming meeting of the Council for the Implementation of Priority National Projects will discuss its action plans for the near future and for the long term as, according to Mr Medvedev, work on implementing the projects will take place over a considerable period of time.
