Vladimir Putin met with Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi

With Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
In the presence of President Vladimir Putin and Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Rafidah Aziz signed a protocol on the completion of talks regarding Russia\'s accession to the World Trade Organization.

The Russian head of state noted the positive developments in Russian-Malaysian economic relations and expressed his confidence that the visit to Malaysia will act as a new impulse for developing mutual relations.

The President thanked the Malaysian Prime Minister for supporting Russia's candidature to be an observer at the Islamic Conference Organization.

Vladimir Putin invited the Malaysian Prime Minister to visit Russia in 2006.

Abdullah Ahmad Badawi expressed the hope that Vladimir Putin's visit and his participation in the ASEAN summit will enable Russia's relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region to expand and take on new content.

Following the talks Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry Rafidah Aziz signed a protocol on the completion of talks regarding Russia's accession to the World Trade Organization in the presence of Vladimir Putin and Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
