The heads of state discussed their countries' trade and economic cooperation, further increasing the participation of Russian companies in investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, as well as some aspects of cooperation in the cultural and educational spheres, namely expanding the activities of branches of Russian higher educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan. The Russian side appreciates the efforts of the leadership of Kyrgyzstan to support the Russian language.
During the meeting Dmitry Medvedev also stressed that the leadership of the Russian Federation will take tough and decisive measures to curb crimes against economic migrants.
The two heads of state discussed preparations for the next summit of CIS heads of state in Bishkek. Following the invitation of Kurmanbek Bakiyev, Dmitry Medvedev will make an official visit to Kyrgyzstan on the eve of the summit.
