The Corporation is created with a view to preserve and develop the research and production potential of the Russian aviation construction industry, to ensure the state's security and defence capabilities, to pool the intellectual, industrial and financial resources for implementing prospective programmes to create technical equipment used in aviation.
Along with this the Russian President has given a decree that transformed the federal state unitary enterprises, the Russian aircraft corporation MiG and the S. P. Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Production Association, into joint stock companies. One hundred percent of the shares are federal property, and all together they represent a contribution by the Russian Federation to the nominal capital of the joint stock company Associated Aviation Construction Corporation.
The priority directions of the Corporation's activities include developing, manufacturing, implementing, supporting operations, providing guarantees and service, modernizing, renovating, and using aviation technology for military and civil purposes in the interests of the state and other consumers, including foreign ones, and also introducing new technologies and developments in the field of aviation construction.
