The security and law enforcement agencies should take the offensive in the fight against terrorism, closely coordinating all their work in this area, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with senior officers newly appointed to higher posts and promoted to higher military grades.
Priorities for the Armed Forces include improving mobility, the level of technical equipment and combat preparedness, the moral and psychological climate within the Armed Forces and modernising the border infrastructure.
Priorities for the law enforcement agencies listed by the President include the fight against crime, including economic crime, crime prevention work, rigorous monitoring and supervision of the operation of complex technical facilities and facilities used by large numbers of people and increased international cooperation in the area of drugs control.
