The Federal Law provides for the ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism, signed by the Russian Federation on November 17, 2005, in Strasbourg and introduced to the State Duma for ratification by the Russian President.
The convention establishes a comprehensive legal foundation for practical cooperation between the law enforcement agencies in different countries in detecting, preventing, suppressing and investigating crimes of a terrorist nature that concern the jurisdiction and interests of two or more countries.
