Mr Putin presented the Presidential Regiment with a new military banner and congratulated the soldiers and officers on the anniversary.
A military review then took place on the Kremlin’s Ivanovskaya Square.
Following the ceremony, Mr Putin visited the regiment’s barracks, located in the Arsenal building.
The President visited the living quarters, the rooms where the servicemen store their uniforms and arms, and also visited the regimental museum. After a brief tour of the museum, Mr Putin was presented with a shako, the hat historically part of the Presidential Regiment’s ceremonial uniform.
