The CICA’s main task is to develop a shared vision of the region’s problems, challenges and threats and to begin a collective search for adequate solutions to these problems. The CICA would also like to start a multifaceted process to increase trust, friendship and cooperation in Asia.
The member countries of the CICA cooperate actively in resolving major regional problems including fighting against terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, drug trafficking and preventing the spread of dangerous infectious diseases. Very interesting prospects are becoming available in the economic, energy and transport sectors.
Vladimir Putin noted with satisfaction that the authority of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia is increasing and expressed his hope that the Declaration adopted at the second CICA summit will give a new stimulus to multifaceted cooperation within the organization.
