The United Shipbuilding Corporation [USC] was created to boost the development of the scientific and industrial capacities of Russia's defence industry, to ensure the state's defence capabilities, as well as to concentrate intellectual, industrial and financial resources in military and civil shipbuilding projects, the development of the continental shelf and the global shipping market.
100 percent of the shares of the USC are state-owned, and it will be composed of all state-owned shipbuilding enterprises and government stakes in private companies.
