“Russia highly values its good relations with Peru based on traditional feelings of friendship and mutual sympathy between our peoples”, the President’s telegram reads. “We are pleased to note that cooperation between Russia and Peru is becoming ever more multifaceted and filled with substance. Our political dialogue is deepening and we are expanding our cooperation in the United Nations, APEC and other international organisations. We have a lot in common in our approaches to strengthening global and regional security, combating international terrorism, organised crime, illicit drugs trafficking and other cross border threats and challenges.
We seek to continue developing our mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership and in this respect we place particular importance on carrying out joint projects in high-technology fields such as aviation and the space industry, nuclear energy, telecommunications and the fuel and energy sector.
We are ready to pursue more active and concrete cooperation in the military-technical sector.
I am confident that this comprehensive and pragmatic approach can take the relations between our two countries to a new level”, Mr Putin noted.
