The President noted the frank and trusting spirit of the dialogue the two countries conduct, a spirit that makes it possible to successfully resolve bilateral cooperation issues, reach coordinated positions on most international issues and work together to fight modern threats and challenges. “This approach unfailingly serves the interests of peace and stability in the Central Asian region,” Mr Putin noted.
Mr Putin once again praised Mr Karimov’s decision to renew Uzbekistan’s membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, thus opening up new opportunities for making the organisation more effective and for developing cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Eurasian Economic Community.
