The message reads, in particular:
“The importance of this ministerial session is underscored by the Black Sea region’s increasing importance in global politics and the global economy, its strategic geographical location and immense economic potential that are of particular significance for developing close and productive ties between Europe and Asia. Russia supports the member countries’ efforts to develop all-round regional cooperation.
The organisation has come to play an important part in common European integration processes over recent years and has gained deserved authority as a body fostering effective economic cooperation in the Black Sea region.
During its presidency of the organisation, Russia focused its efforts on increasing the practical results of the organisation’s work in favour of ongoing social and economic development in the region. Russia’s initiatives contribute to the implementation of promising joint business projects, including major infrastructure, transport, energy and other projects.
I am confident that the successful implementation of these initiatives will benefit the peoples of all the Black Sea countries and will make a significant contribution to the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organisation’s continued development as one of the key multilateral mechanisms for ensuring social and economic growth and strengthening security and stability in the region.”
