During the Hanoi APEC summit, the heads of state and government of the 21 member states have held a series of meetings on regional and global cooperation. The final Hanoi Declaration was adopted unanimously.
The document hails further economic integration across the community and calls for a new high-liquidity financial engine in the region to pre-empt financial crises.
APEC leaders committed to further efforts against all forms and expressions of terror, agreed on anti-corruption measures, and reaffirmed their commitment to respond to issues threatening global energy security.
The declaration also says APEC will continue to address infectious diseases, build up disaster early-warning capabilities, facilitate the spread of information technology, and do more to protect intellectual property rights.
The Forum also adopted The Hanoi Plan of Action on the Pusan Roadmap toward the Bogor goals.
The summit ended in a ceremonial photo of all the attending leaders dressed in the traditional Vietnamese Ao Dai outfits.
Australia will host the next APEC summit in 2007.
