Mr Putin also congratulated the young winners’ teachers and parents.
The Eurovision 2006 international children’s competition took place in Bucharest on December 2. Young performers aged between 9 and 14 from 15 European countries took part.
Nine-year-old twin sisters Masha and Nastya Tolmacheva from the Russian city of Kursk won the competition, getting the highest number of votes with their performance of a song called ‘Spring Jazz’.
