Vladimir Putin got to know the plan for developing Sochi's sporting installations and met with members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Evaluation Commission

With Chiharu Igaya, vice president of the International Olympic Committee\'s evaluation commission.
With German journalist Joachim Barts and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov at a presentation of the sports development plans for the city of Sochi.

Speaking at the presentation of Sochi’s candidature to host the 22nd Winter Olympics, Vladimir Putin declared that Russia will do everything possible to ensure that Sochi is a worthy 2014 Olympic capital. The head of state also emphasized that the financial resources will be spent to unite people around the idea of physical education.

The President thanked the presentation’s participants and visitors for their interest in Russia’s candidature to host the Olympic games.

The President then welcomed the members of the IOC Evaluation Commission who are in Sochi on an inspection trip. The meeting took place without the participation of journalists and in accordance with IOC rules that state that members of the Evaluation Commission do not have the right to talk to media representatives.
