The federal law ratifies the agreement between the governments of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China on encouraging and mutually protecting investments, as well as the protocol to this agreement, signed in Beijing on November 9, 2006.
The agreement stipulates reciprocal admission of investments and guarantees their protection. It also provides for expedited transfers of revenues and capital investments abroad.
The protocol to the agreement stipulates that unless otherwise agreed by the parties to the agreement, it should not apply to Hong Kong and Macao, which are special administrative regions within the People’s Republic of China.
