As he opened the meeting, Mr Putin emphasised that this year Russia will adopt a three-year budget for the first time ever. In connection with this, Vladimir Putin asked the Federation Council to watch out for costly draft bill proposals and to prevent the adoption of unreasonable and populist laws in the pre-election year.
Vladimir Putin also said that implementing Russia’s national projects will remain the priority task in the near future. At the same time, the systemic modernization of the health, education, housing and agricultural sectors will continue.
The meeting’s participants placed special emphasis on demographic problems, including in light of ongoing work on a demographic development concept for Russia until 2025.
Chairman of the Federation Council Sergei Mironov gave the President an annual report entitled “On the Legislation of the Russian Federation” and prepared by the House Council.
