As he opened the session Mr Putin said that Russia has all necessary prerequisites to become a leader in the world’s arms market.
The head of state recalled that today Rosoboronexport is the only Russian exporter of weapons and military equipment. Others engaged in military-technical cooperation must focus on improving the efficiency and quality of the deliveries of parts and components as well as the maintenance services offered.
Another task involves creating joint ventures that provide maintenance services for military equipment and weapons.
The President suggested that the Commission discuss further ways to improve military-technical cooperation. Vladimir Putin emphasised that it is necessary to act in a consistent and systematic way to fully benefit from the range of available organisational, legal and financial instruments.
