The Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation with Foreign States held a meeting to discuss its ongoing work to make its activities more effective.
Addressing the meeting, President Vladimir Putin said that work should be planned and systematic and make maximum use of all existing organisational, legal and financial instruments.
On January 18, 2007, Mr Putin signed the Decree on Matters pertaining to Military-Technical Cooperation between the Russian Federation and Foreign Countries, amending the current military export procedures and placing greater responsibility on state intermediaries in the military-technical cooperation system.
