Vladimir Putin discussed the government’s plans to raise pensions. He said that this could be done ahead of the schedule set by the budget due to the work carried out by the government and the Pension Fund.
Vladimir Putin talked about the State Duma vote on the START II Treaty. He said if the treaty is ratified, Russia will be able to become more assertive in negotiations on international security. The treaty would also help preserve a nuclear parity, the acting president said.
Mr Putin also answered journalists’ questions about his expectations from the forthcoming visits to Belarus, Britain and Ukraine.
