President Vladimir Putin met with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev

The two leaders discussed a number of economic issues.

Mr Putin invited Mr Aliev to take part in the International Economic Forum and the CIS summit that will take place in St Petersburg in June 2007.

Mr Aliev is in Moscow on a private visit in connection with celebrations for Mstislav Rostropovich’s 80th birthday.
