The meeting discussed ways of organising the work of the State Duma and its cooperation with the executive bodies, as well as several international and nationwide issues, in particular the situation in the North Caucasus, Russia’s socio-economic situation, development of Russia’s agro-industrial sector, defence policy and ratification of the START II.
During the meeting deputies criticised the cabinet, in particular the process of drafting laws.
The government will accept these comments, Mr Putin told journalists after the meeting.
Answering journalists’ questions, the acting president said that he had not been informed that the Sibneft company had bought shares in the Krasnoyarsk aluminium plant. Mr Putin said that the State Committee on Antimonopoly Policy should have paid greater attention to this deal long ago.
