At the meeting on the development of nanotechnology held at the Kurchatov Institute, Vladimir Putin noted that Russia’s increasing economic potential provides new opportunities for expanding fundamental research in fields such as nanotechnology – a very promising one.
Nanotechnology is increasingly in demand in industry, medicine, transportation, aerospace, telecommunications and the process of creating high-precision weapons.
Developing the nanotechnology industry will result in qualitative changes in the country’s economic structure. For that reason the government is paying a great deal of attention to nanotechnology. Vladimir Putin emphasised the need to establish clear goals for federal investments and ensure effective management of these financial resources.
