Vladimir Putin, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, and President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev during three-party talks.

During talks in Turkmenbashi the three presidents Vladimir Putin, Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov and Nursultan Nazarbaev discussed joint action to develop energy cooperation, in particular by increasing their gas transportation capacities.

The three heads of state signed a Joint Declaration on Constructing a Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline and a Joint Declaration on Developing Gas Transportation Facilities in Central Asia.

They discussed a wide range of problems associated with cooperation in the Caspian Sea area and, in particular, issues relating to transport infrastructure and the environment.

Intergovernmental agreements on reconstructing the existing trans-Caspian pipeline and constructing a new pipeline system will be signed before September 2007, Vladimir Putin told journalists after the talks.
