Among the items on the agenda was Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov’s upcoming visit to Turkey.
Mr Putin informed the meeting about his recent talks in Sochi with the Presidents of Ukraine and Belarus.
The meeting also discussed work on a long-term programme for developing the energy sector.
Earlier in the day, Mr Putin held a separate meeting with Mr Kasyanov and also spoke briefly with journalists. The President announced that President of Yugoslavia Vojislav Kostunica would soon be visiting Moscow and said that Russia has a programme ready for developing its relations with Yugoslavia.
