The Russian President and the Japanese Prime Minister discussed current issues of bilateral relations, including those related to the trade and economic spheres, as well as the problem of a peace treaty between the two countries.
Mr Putin and Mr Mori agreed to hold Russian-Japanese consultations at the level of foreign ministers to prepare the Japanese Prime Minister’s visit to Russia scheduled for the first half of 2001.
