President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with German Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on the latter's initiative

Mr Putin and Mr Schroeder exchanged opinions on Macedonian developments, and on Russian-German and multi-lateral team efforts to guarantee peace, stability, territorial integrity and inviolability of frontiers in Macedonia.

They also discussed preparations for Mr Putin’s visit to Germany, due in late September 2001.
