The message reads, in particular:
”Over 15 years your organisation has convincingly demonstrated its usefulness, achieved a great deal of international authority, and become well-integrated into the structure of the multifaceted relations of CIS countries. It is important that model laws developed by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly are truly able to enhance the effectiveness of our countries’ national legislation. The Assembly’s peace-keeping role, significant contribution to the development of democracy and institutes of civil society, as well as contribution towards strengthening the systems of electoral rights in the former Soviet Union have also been invaluable.
I am convinced that the activities of the Interparliamentary Assembly and its significant potential will continue to focus on providing legislative support for economic, social and political cooperation between our states as well as more effective integration.“
