Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Louis Michel met President Putin at Melsbruck military airport near Brussels.
On his arrival, Mr Putin went to the informal talks with Guy Verhofstadt, head of the Belgian Government.
It was a restricted meeting. The major part of the talks involved bilateral issues as well as the situation in Europe and the rest of the world, particularly in the light of the recent tragic events in the USA.
Both leaders discussed the issues related to the future of Europe in the economic and security spheres.
