The counter-terrorist operation in Afghanistan topped the agenda of the President’s meeting with Government officials.
Mr Putin said he had no doubts that the US Administration and President Bush would do everything possible to prevent the civilian victims as a result of this operation.
The Kremlin meeting also discussed the Kursk submarine recovery effort.
