Mr Putin congratulated Mr Berdymukhamedov on his fiftieth birthday.
Both leaders expressed their readiness to work consistently towards developing and deepening bilateral cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan in all different areas.
Mr Putin also sent a telegram of congratulations to Mr Berdymukhamedov.
The President’s message reads, in particular:
“Today you are engaged in far-reaching work to foster economic growth, reform the social sphere, improve people’s living standards and consolidate Turkmenistan’s place in the international community.
We greatly value your readiness to consistently expand and develop our multifaceted relations and build a fruitful partnership between our countries in the interests of stability and security in Central Asia.
I am sure that implementation of the agreements reached at our recent meetings in Moscow, Ashgabat and St Petersburg will help to activate cooperation between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan and will bolster our work together within the Commonwealth of Independent States”.
