The two presidents had their conversation on the eve of Mr Putin’s departure for a visit to the United States. They discussed the anti-terrorist operation in Afghanistan and the prospects for Afghan settlement after the conflict.
Mr Putin and Mr Rakhmonov also discussed essential aspects of Russian-Tajik partnership.
