Mr Medvedev congratulated the laureates on their well-deserved awards.
He also thanked all of Russia’s medical workers for the noble work and congratulated them on their upcoming professional holiday.
The ‘Vocation’ Prize is traditionally awarded on the eve of Medical Workers’ Day, which falls on the third Sunday in June. This year, the healthcare sector’s professional holiday falls on June 15.
The ‘Vocation’ Prize is awarded in the following categories: for performing a unique life-saving operation; for creating a new treatment method; for creating a new diagnosis method; for creating a new direction in medicine; for contribution to the development of medicine by members of the fundamental science and non-medical professions; and for loyalty to the profession. A special prize, the Channel One Prize, established by Channel One, the ceremony’s organizer, was also awarded.
