The President’s letter reads in particular:
“I have warm recollections of our meeting in Riyadh in February. The agreements we reached have made it possible to intensify the political dialogue between Russia and Saudi Arabia, begin taking practical steps towards comprehensively developing our trade and economic, military-technical, investment, and other forms of cooperation and consolidate our work together in combating international terrorism. Russia and Saudi Arabia are together in their support for work to improve the situation in the Middle East and are working actively to help settle crisis situations and strengthen security and stability in the region. The open and constructive discussions I had recently with Prince Bandar bin Sultan confirmed the closeness of our positions on the main international and regional issues.
I would like to thank you for receiving President of the Republic of Chechnya R. A. Kadyrov as a guest of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I see this as yet another confirmation of the friendly relations between our two countries”.
Mr Putin’s letter was passed on by President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, who is currently visiting Saudi Arabia.
